米ロイターによると、米EMCと独SAPが企業向けホステッド・サービス構築に向け、両社が話し合いを進めていることをあるSAP幹部が話したという。

2007年11月、米EMCが主催したカンファレンス「Innovation Day」において、同社のCEOであるTucci氏はとても興味深いコメントを発している。どうやら、同氏は「Cloud Computing」に高い関心を持っている可能性ある....

「(あるスライドを取り出しながら)This is an important slide What this says…is that 70 percent of the information is created by individuals, but 85 percent of that information will be managed in big, safe information repositories in the Internet ’sky,’ so to speak. We’re [talking] cloud computing, Web 2.0 computing.....」

さらに、同氏は続けて、「I believe this slide. It dictates a lot of our strategy, and how we’re going to apply some of the innovation....」

昨日、米Amazon.comが提供しているオンライン・ストレージサービスが停止した。ある米国ブロガーによると、米EMCはAmazon S3が提供するサービスへの施策に注力していると述べている。
